Jiwu, a combo of Taiwanese and Japanese food

Interior Design

The restaurant is built with double-high ceilings, and the windows up on the roof also provide natural lights to the dining area. I like this housing space, and it sort of creating a cozy atmosphere. It feels like home.

Grilled Mackerel Teishoku

Teishoku is basically a set meal served in Japanese restaurants, and it usually includes rice, a main dish, pickles and miso soup. So what I've tried today is the most common Teishoku, Grilled Mackerel. The fish is so satisfying because it melted in your mouth right after your tongue touched it. Mackerel is already salty so I only squeeze some lemon juice on the top. And by doing it, the lemon juice can not only soften the meat, but also balance and gives the dish a refreshing scent. The side dishes are pretty nice, and I enjoy the middle one, sweet taro, the most.

Pork Sukiyaki with rice

Note: Sukiyaki: It usually comes in hot pot, people put sliced meat, tofu, onions, vegetables and special sauce in. And often dip the food with egg yolk.

Fried rice with Anchovy Larvae

Note: Anchovy Larvae is basically very tiny fish(well, since they don't get a chance to grow up), and they're very commonly used in Taiwanese and Japanese dishes(Fried rice, onigiri- rice wrapped in triangle or round form...)

Apologize again, I didn't get a chance to try these two(they're my friends' orders), I believe they're good as well (I can tell from their face). So, instead, I provide some information of Anchovy Larvae and sukiyaki. Hope it'll be helpful!
